Commander Joseph Dituri is a retired Naval Officer. He served almost 28 years active duty in the US navy where he was involved in hyperbaric system maintenance, saturation diving and ship repair. After retirement Josephearned a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering Joseph is a contributing author to Hyperbaric Medical Practice (4th edition), the author of numerous diver-training manuals, a co-author of the book “Tao of Survival Underwater". In 2023 Joseph Dituri shocked the world by living underwater in a habitat and performing biomedical engineering and phycological experiments on himself for a world record setting 100 days. This data will further inform the world about the mechanisms of action of hyperbarics as well as show capabilities and limitations of human duration in an isolated, confined extreme environment. Currently Dr. Dituri is serving as the Assistant Vice President for Veteran’s CliResearch at the University of South Florida where he is helping search for a cure for veterans with Traumatic Brain Injury. His myriad work on deep and long duration diving earned him the pseudonym Dr Deepsea. This episode covers Dr. Dituri’s 100 day self experiment under the sea and the shocking scientific discoveries he made that include staggering anti-aging effects.
