Podcast:Till The Wheels Fall Off Published On: Wed Jul 31 2024 Description: Have an episode suggestion? Text us!In this episode we're covering the concept of selfishness as it pertains to acts of self-care. In many ways working toward sobriety can be seen as "selfish" when it's actually an act of self-care that leads to the elimination of selfish behaviors over time. This is true for people in recovery as well as spouses and partners of alcoholics and addicts. A person setting boundaries to protect their values is no more "selfish" than someone in recovery doing the same thing - but it's often not viewed that way. We break down what we believe to be actual selfish behaviors versus self-care, and then discuss how "codependency" is no more selfish than someone trying to preserve the things they hold most dear to them.Find video clips and full length video from this episode on YouTube and our other social media pages! On the web:www.twfo.comSupport the Show:Buy Us a Coffee!Online Program: www.independentlystrong.comSoberlink Device:www.soberlink.com/wheelsCheck out our blog:https://twfo.com/blogFollow us on TikTok:https://tiktok.com/@twfo_coupleFollow us on Instagram:https://instagram.com/twfo_couple/Follow us on Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/TWFOCoupleFollow us on YouTube:https://www.youtube.com/@twfo_coupleFind Taylor Counseling Group:https://taylorcounselinggroup.com/Donate to Counseling for the Future Foundation:Donate Here
