Description: In this episode of Profiling Evil, I鈥檓 joined by veteran crime reporter Caroline Lowe to discuss the unsolved disappearance of Jodi Huisentruit, the 27-year-old morning news anchor who vanished outside her Mason City, Iowa apartment on June 27, 1995. Jodi had overslept and told her producer she鈥檇 be right in for the morning newscast at KIMT-TV. About 20 minutes later, investigators believe she made it to her red Mazda Miata, just steps from her apartment door, where evidence suggested she was attacked and abducted. Her personal items were found scattered near the car, including shoes, hairspray, a hairdryer, and a bent key. Jodi has never been found.Caroline Lowe has spent decades reporting on this case and helping keep Jodi鈥檚 story alive through FindJodi.com. In this conversation, we talk about the timeline, the crime scene, possible offender types, the importance of victimology, the dangers of tunnel vision, and why law enforcement sometimes holds back evidence even when the public wants answers. We also talk about who Jodi was beyond the case: a young journalist with big dreams, deep friendships, a love of travel, and a life that should never be reduced to the mystery of her disappearance. After 30 years, this case still matters. Someone may know something. A memory, a property connection, an old conversation, a vehicle, a tip, or even remains discovered by chance could still move this investigation forward.
