There have been rumors of Apple announcing some new products in the first part of 2026 and it looks like the time has come. The company announced an event for March 4 to unveil some updated products. One of the products Apple is rumored to be released this year is a low-cost MacBook and according to Mark Gurman they will come in a variety of "fun colors." Ring had an amazing ad during the Super Bowl that will use its camera network to help find lost dogs. Sounds great, but Dave has a warning about the new service. Rumors continue about Apple coming out with some sort of a foldable iPhone that will be released this year and the follow up designs that will follow. My wife got me a pair of Meta Ray Ban sunglasses this week. I haven't had a lot of time to work with them , but I talk about my first impressions. Amazon Web Services went down this week and it took some of the biggest tech companies along with it. So much money and expertise all taken out because of one simple mistake. Apple's recently released products are availble for pickup now and there doesn't seem to be shortages of anything. Apple has announced its September iPhone event. Dave and I talk about all of the products we expect to see and which ones we'd buy. Meta is using a lot of books to train its AI dataset, but it doesn't have permission to use them all. It seems the company is using books, including 15 that Dave wrote, without permission. Dave installed the latest beta of watchOS and found a new gesture that he really likes. I have one that I use a lot as well, so I'm not sure I'll change. The iPhone 16 is set to be available on September 20. Many people put in their preorders, but less than an hour after they started, shipping times were already pushed back to October. Early tests on iPhone 16 battery life are encouraging, and all of the new Apple OSes have been officially released. I found a couple of bugs in Apple's tvOS that have been very annoying over the last few months. They seem to have started after Apple introduced a new menu system in the software in the last version. Macs can now inform Apple if any liquid has been spilled in the USB-C ports. So, if you spill something on your Mac and then take it in for service, they will know what happened. Apple this week unveiled some new security changes for its iPhone devices. Specifically, if someone steals your iPhone, and has your password, they will no longer be able to change security settings without using Face ID.
