David Rutherford Show: How This Cop Survived His Own Department Trying to Destroy Him | Michael Legregni
Podcast: The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton ShowPublished On: Mon Sep 21 2026
Description: Mike Legregni guarded American embassies as a Marine. Then he came home, became a cop in New Jersey, and ran into an enemy he never trained for: his own chain of command. Mike says it started with one crash report and one video his bosses wanted gone. It ended with his badge. This one is a gut punch, and it's also one of the best stories of forgiveness I've heard in a long time. What you'll hear: • The crash, the surveillance video, and the order Mike says he got: delete it • 76 internal affairs complaints, by Mike's count, and the witness who asked him, "What complaint?" • The memo that stripped a veteran cop of any decision-making on duty • Fired on Halloween, the whistleblower suit, and an $843,000 settlement with no admission of wrongdoing • How he learned he'd been put on a list that ended his shot at the DEA • His wife's ultimatum, and how forgiveness and faith brought him back Michael Legregni is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, former police officer, and founder of Veteran Wood Co. The account in this episode is his own. ✅ Sponsors: ☕️ Black Rifle Coffee: https://www.blackriflecoffee.com/ 🏫 Get coaching by David Rutherford: https://www.froglogicinstitute.com/Follow Clay & Buck on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/clayandbuckSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
