Under his leadership, the district has consistently been ranked among the top in the state, earning “A-Rated” status, achieving record graduation rates, and gaining national recognition for academic growth and student success. A former teacher, coach, principal, and assistant superintendent, Dr. Dillon has built a reputation for developing people, building strong culture, and leading with vision. His leadership has led to innovative initiatives such as a one-to-one Chromebook program, expanded career and technical education pathways, and partnerships like Petal U and a year-long teacher residency program with The University of Southern Mississippi. Dr. Dillon was named Mississippi Superintendent of the Year and is a recipient of the Bobby Runnels Leadership Award. Beyond education, he is a devoted husband and father of three—and was even recognized nationally as Mississippi’s Haggar Hall of Fame Dad of the Year, appearing on the Steve Harvey Show.
