Built in 1847 by a local whiskey distiller, this stately home was sold to attorney Strother Beeson, who left his mark in an unusual way—by erecting a crypt for his mother, right across the street from the mansion. In time, others joined his mother in the afterlife and in the crypt.Local legend has it that Strother’s daughter-in-law, Harriet, was so grief-stricken by the loss of her infant son that she continued to visit him nightly in the crypt. Today, Ken and Katherine plan to transform this incredible mansion into a haunted bed-and-breakfast.
