Is Akron's "Fan Play-Caller" Contest Rigged for Barstool's Big Cat?
Podcast: The Ken Carman Show with Anthony LimaPublished On: Thu Aug 20 2026
Description: Ken Carman and Anthony Lima dig into Akron football's contest letting a season-ticket-holder call the team's first offensive series against Robert Morris, questioning whether the process was rigged after Barstool's Dan "Big Cat" Katz emerged as a finalist by reportedly buying up to 18 season-ticket entries himself. They run through the full list of finalists, debate whether Akron athletics actually swore off any rigging, and riff on the absurd logistics of what happens if the play call flops or the coach gets ejected before the opening drive even finishes.
