Ian Rapoport Says Deshaun Watson Was Never Close to Being Benched
Podcast: The Ken Carman Show with Anthony Lima
Published On: Tue Sep 29 2026
Description: Ian Rapoport tells Ken and Lima that Watson controlled his own fate and never got close to being pulled, and that if he stays healthy and keeps playing like this, he could be back in 2027 even with the Browns holding two first-round picks. He also says there's no real trade market for Shedeur Sanders, no buyer's remorse in Los Angeles over Myles Garrett, and that quarterback injuries aren't really worse than usual. Ken then pitches his top 10 quarterback draft rule, Rapoport calls it one of the worst rules in history, and the hosts spend the rest of the segment defending the idea.
