Did Deshaun Watson Sabotage Himself To Avoid Starting At Quarterback?
Podcast: The Ken Carman Show with Anthony Lima
Published On: Mon Aug 24 2026
Description: Ken Carman shares a mistaken identity mishap from Saturday's drive home before he and Anthony Lima pivot to Shedeur Sanders, arguing his composed performance and growing command of the offense got buried under the Deshaun Watson meltdown coverage. Carman also addresses a nasty online exchange involving people close to Sanders targeting Daryl Ruiter, saying the Browns are not happy about it and that Sanders would be wise to distance himself from it. The two end up agreeing Sanders earned the starting job on Saturday, with Lima even floating the theory that Watson may have torpedoed his own chances on purpose.
