Would the Browns Have Benched Deshaun Watson if He Played Badly?
Podcast: The Ken Carman Show with Anthony Lima
Published On: Mon Sep 21 2026
Description: Ken and Lima celebrate the win, praise Todd Monken for running to the fans and getting his first NFL game ball, and hear from Mike in Florida, who wore a Baker Mayfield jersey but says he cheered for the Browns all game. Lima softens his "losers" comment, and Ken reveals he had good information that Watson wouldn't have started at home if he'd played badly. Ken says he was nervous that a mediocre loss would spark a messy fan debate, and they agree Watson now gets at least the next two starts, with a Brook Park Road tangent along the way.
