Description: Carson Benge had a career day at the plate, and the New York Mets were able to leave San Diego with a series win after defeating the Padres, 7-3. Benge is the highlight of this one, going 5-for-5 with 2 RBI and falling just a double short of the cycle. It was a good afternoon for the Mets offense as a whole, scoring 7 runs on 13 hits. Marcus Semien continued his power surge with yet another HR and MJ Melendez added one of his own, off a lefty. It was another opener for the Mets, with Huascar Brazoban getting the duties once again. His scoreless inning paved the way for Sean Manaea, who went just 4 innings as the bulk reliever and allowed two runs. The velocity was down for Manaea in this one and he seemed to run out of gas in that 5th inning. Luke Weaver kept his scoreless streak in tact, pushing it to 15 straight outings without allowing a run. With the win, the Mets finished off a 3-3 road trip and made their last trip to the West Coast for the regular season, going 11-11 in the 22 games played out west.
