POSTCAST: Nolan McLean BATTLES Through Six, But Padres Strike LATE To Even Series
Podcast:Locked On Mets - Daily Podcast On The New York Mets Published On: Sun Jun 07 2026 Description: Nolan McLean battled for the second straight start, but a late homer off of Austin Warren gave the San Diego Padres the lead and they defeated the New York Mets, 3-2. McLean didn't have his best stuff again tonight, but battled and threw a career high 101 pitches over six innings of one run ball. The offense didn't do much, but a Marcus Semien homer in the 7th gave the Mets a 2-1 lead. Warren came in for the 7th and almost got out of it. But after not being able to make a play to end the inning, he served up a go-ahead 2-run home run to Freddy Fermin. There was hope for the Mets to comeback, after a pair of singles from Carson Benge and Bo Bichette with Juan Soto at the plate. Soto hit into an unlucky double play to end the inning, and end the Mets comeback hopes. The Mets will try to win this series tomorrow afternoon, with Sean Manaea pitching in some capacity.
