Description: Zac Thornton bounced back with seven solid innings and the bats hit SIX home runs in a 12-2 win on Saturday afternoon for the New York Mets. Thornton is the main character from this one today. Coming off his worst start as a big league pitcher, Thornton had about as perfect of a response as you could have asked for. He went 7 innings and allowed just 2 ER with four strikeouts. The bats supported him in a big way, slugging six home runs and putting up 12 runs. Francisco Lindor got things started with a home run to lead off the game; he'd add a grand slam to his ledger before the day was over. Lindor was one of five Mets that went yard. Luis Torrens, Carson Benge, Juan Soto and Jared Young also joined the power party. Christian Scott will go in the series finale as the Mets will try to win a series in the Bronx.
