Description: The New York Mets had just three hits to waste some solid pitching, as they dropped the opener to the Miami Marlins, 2-1.  One could consider this a hard luck loss for the Mets, as Carson Benge had a pair of hits taken away from some great defense by Miami. The Marlins go ahead run was scored in part because of a ball that just stayed fair in front of Benge in the 4th inning.  Pitching was the bright spot for the Mets tonight. Tobias Myers got the start as the opener and got four outs. Perhaps the most encouraging thing from tonight's game was Sean Manaea looking like his 2024 self.
