Description: One of my favorite things to observe and study is the phenomenon called the “continued influence effect” which is where misinformation or misleading information continues to influence people's beliefs & judgments even after the misinformation has been corrected or debunked. CIE highlights the lingering impact of false or inaccurate information on individuals' thoughts and subsequent decision-making processes.  I think societally this has accelerated. This is one of my longer podcasts -- but I think it may be one of the most important I'll ever record. In under 20 minutes I will explain how continued influence effect (CIE) impacts you and how you see the world. I'll also share strategies to develop greater critical thinking, as well as exercises you can test to help you understand the motivation behind holding onto conscious and unconscious perceptions that we hold near and dear -- even if they involve faulty, outdated thinking.
