Continuing our study of the Apostle Paul's view of circumcision, this week focuses on Galatians 6. To perpetuate a popular view that certain groups were inferior to others, some Christians required others to be circumcised. Paul believed this was so contrary to the gospel, and he took the issue so seriously, that he wrote this part of his letter himself with extra-large letters. So, why don't we take discrimination within the church as seriously as Paul did? Why do we passively participate in the prejudice of others? 0:00 - Show Starts 2:05 - Theme Song 5:15 - Looking Down on Others 10:46 - Social Pressure to Be Superior 23:08 - Pressured to Antagonized Muslims 34:00 - End Credits

Skye and David trace the roots of the problem, the incentives that fueled it, and the late-breaking backlash that may signal a tipping point. In this highly theological edition of The SkyePod, Skye answers questions about free will, Heaven, and hearing the voice of God. What red flags should we look for to see if we are hearing the Holy Spirit or just ourselves? Will we have free will in Heaven? And why would Skye choose the Star Wars prequel trilogy over the Star Wars sequel trilogy? Questions covered: If you had to watch one Star Wars trilogy that's not the OT, would you watch the prequel trilogy or the sequel trilogy? There has been a lot of talk lately in Christian circles about how doubts are fine. That God can handle our doubts and questions and that doubts and questions ultimately grow our faith. This is a nice change from the history of shaming doubt in the church. However, I struggle with passages in the gospels where it appears that Jesus rebukes people for not having enough faith. How do you reconcile these rebukes with the idea that God can handle our doubts and questions? How do you read all the books you discuss in your interviews? Do you take speed reading classes, have a system to skim through them, or have people who read and summarize them for you? I've always been a reader, and I can read faster than the average person, but there's no way I could talk about all the books you discuss. How do you do that? I have a friend who in the last few years started reading early church fathers (ie.Augustine, Aquinas, Ignatius). After being raised in a good Christian family his entire life, he now believes the only way to follow God is to convert to Roman Catholicism. Can you help me understand this leap? If the ability to sin is what makes obedience valuable (we are not robots who have to obey), why doesn't that follow through to heaven/new earth? If there is no sin there, does the inability to sin cheapen our obedience/love? Or will we have the ability, but won't choose it? Does competition that comes from sports belong in New Creation? How do you know whether the voice in your head is the Holy Spirit or your own mind? This episode is available only for Holy Post Plus subscribers. Not a subscriber? Since taking office in January, Trump's net worth has increased by nearly $3 billion thanks to his family-branded cryptocurrencies being purchased by foreign governments and businesses. And the legacy of Pope Francis is seen very differently by those who believe the church must defend itself against the threats of secularism, and those who think the church needs to extend more mercy to those on the margins.
