Description: In June 2022, Shaun Varsos  murdered his ex-wife Marie Versos and her mother Debbie Cisco in a calculated act of domestic violence. Despite Marie's desperate attempts to protect herself—including obtaining a restraining order and filing for divorce—the system failed her. Shaun had been released from jail just days before the murders, and Marie had no idea he was free. Shaun shot and killed both Marie and Debbie, then posted a manifesto on social media blaming Marie for everything before taking his own life. Marie's brother Alex found the post and immediately knew something was wrong, but it was too late. This episode is an UPDATE because in the wake of this tragedy, Ohio passed "Marie & Debbie's Law"—requiring that domestic violence victims be notified when their abuser is released from custody. Alex Versos fought tirelessly for this law, turning his grief into action that could save countless lives.
