Description: Follow us for more health advice: drink water and hide your feet unless somebody’s paying extra. 😂This week, Autumn and Donald are talking about quitting culture— and whether quitting is actually always the bad thing we’ve been taught it is.Because there’s a BIG difference between giving up the second something gets uncomfortable… and realizing that a relationship, job, workout, friendship, lifestyle, or version of yourself simply isn’t working anymore. And sometimes? Staying is actually the bigger form of quitting.🎧 SummarySomeone suggested Autumn and Donald bring an expert onto the podcast to discuss why younger generations supposedly “quit everything.”Their response?Fuck an expert. Let’s talk about it. 😂And it turns into a much bigger conversation than expected. When does quitting mean you lack discipline — and when does walking away mean you’re finally being honest with yourself?Autumn talks about the rule she gave Dom growing up: if you join the team, you finish the season. You don’t walk away halfway through when other people are depending on you. But once that commitment is fulfilled? You absolutely get to decide it isn’t for you anymore. That opens the door to relationships. Why can you date ten people and nobody calls you a quitter when those relationships end… but the second a marriage ends, suddenly someone “gave up”?They talk about the uncomfortable reality that sometimes staying in the wrong relationship, job, friendship, or life situation means you’ve actually quit pursuing the life you want. But there’s another side to it.Sometimes things are just hard.Three days into a nutrition plan does not mean it “isn’t aligned.” Wednesday of your first week of workouts might not be the moment to decide it isn’t for you. And being uncomfortable doesn’t automatically mean something is toxic.Sometimes you need to stick around long enough to get good at the thing before you get to experience the joy of overcoming it.They get into paying your dues, Autumn wanting to back out of HYROX after already committing, changing workout programs without abandoning fitness altogether, Donald’s decision to stop being vegan after realizing part of the reason he stayed was because of what other people might think, and why a commitment involving other people carries a different weight than one you made only to yourself. And then… **boundaries enter the chat.** 👀Both Autumn and Donald believe in boundaries. They also think we may have reached a point where some people use the word *boundary* to avoid conflict, uncomfortable conversations, responsibility, or anything they simply don’t want to do.Donald brings up a recent friendship that still hasn’t recovered months after a disagreement — which leads to a surprisingly nuanced conversation about the difference between setting a genuine boundary and trying to control the entire situation by labeling everything that makes you uncomfortable as one.So… when should you quit? When should you stay? How long do you have to give something a chance before you can honestly say, *“I tried this, and it’s not for me”*?And maybe the better question isn’'t "Am I quitting?”Maybe it’s:“What exactly did I commit to — and am I still honoring that commitment by staying?”This one might make you rethink a few things you’ve walked away from… and a few things you’re still holding onto.
