The grand staircase is also known for mysterious cold spots and the sound of phantom footsteps echoing through the halls. Eastern State Penitentiary 2027 Fairmount Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19130 Visitors often feel an overwhelming sense of dread near Al Capone's cell, where he reportedly saw visions of his old enemies.
