In all of my years of covering and looking into organized crime, there is no person more interesting than drug kingpin Frank Matthews. Raised in North Carolina, Frank moved to New York City with a dream of making it. He entered the drug trade and transformed into the biggest trafficker born in this country ever. He cut out the Mafia which was integral in his growth. Organized crime and the Mafia have infested America for decades. Mob bosses like John Gotti and Joe Massino preyed on American industry and perpetrated crime through illegal rackets. In the end, they were brought down by the RICO act. Today there are still mobsters and though they look different, they still operate and conduct business in the same ways. The Mafia is a clear influence on new age gangsters in cities around the country like Philadelphia. Today we delve into "Fat Roc" , a gangster and a leader in a group called Omerta and Zoo Gang, two crime groups that operated in North Philadelphia. The Mafia in 2025 has many issues. One of them is time, as most of its members and associates are considered old or elderly. When covering the Mafia and doing these videos, I always hurt for the families of these people. Folks that are generally not connected to the Mafia and have to live with the mistakes of the men at the top of their familial structure. Today, I welcome Jackie Orena, the granddaughter of former alleged Colombo Mafia boss Victor "Little Vic" Orena. She discusses her youth and who her grandfather really was. She also details the sad tactics that the government she believed used against Little Vic through chief informant Greg "The Grim Reaper" Scarpa and corrupt FBI agent Lin Devecchio. In this episode of the show I started off with some mob news involving members and associates of the Bonanno Crime Family who have a dirty cop on their payroll in Long Island. We then discuss Genovese mobster Ciro Perrone. In the early 2000's a TV show called "Growing Up Gotti" debuted on the TV channel A&E. It was very popular but not necessarily with gangsters. Wiretapped conversations revealed insults being hurled at John Gotti's family calling them various things. One of the gangsters recorded discussing them was longtime Genovese mobster Ciro Perrone. Perrone was a very interesting gangster and lived a colorful life in the Mafia.Jeff Nadu is an American Mafia researcher, podcaster and content creator. In 2019, Gambino mobster and family heavyweight Francesco "Franky Boy" Cali was killed in front of his upscale home in Staten Island. People in mob circles, aficionados, Mafia experts and law enforcement were curious about the surprising murder. Was a mob war unfolding in New York City? In the end, a person was arrested and it was an unknown 20 something from nearby named Anthony Comello. Who was Anthony Comello and why did he do this? Over the last month, I went to the scene of the crime and spoke to people that knew Comello best. Some of the info in this video came from first hand accounts of people who knew Anthony Comello personally and grew up with him.Jeff Nadu is an American Mafia researcher, podcaster and content creator. On today's episode of the show I spoke to Xavier Eboli, the son of longtime Genovese mobster and eventual acting boss Thomas "Tommy Ryan" Eboli. In addition he talked about knowing Lucky Luciano, his run in's with Vincent "Chin" Gigante and the Genovese Crime Family and the eventual murder of his father. This is for the history lovers. We hear a lot about former Gambino underboss and his cooperation against John Gotti and other members of the Mafia in New York City. That said, several years after his cooperation Sammy was given a new lease on life in Arizona. Gravano doesn't talk much about his involvement in a large narcotics trafficking ring involving his family that resulted in a long prison sentence. Let's delve into this case! In John Gotti Jr's memoir "Shadow Of My Father" he talks very graciously of a person named Joseph O'Kane. O'Kane, like Gotti Jr was from Queens and was a tough and respected gangster who ran with the likes of John Alite and other gangsters. Eventually O'Kane would have to pay for these crimes and he was hit with an ultimatum... get out of prison by flipping on Gotti or testify on behalf of Gotti. The Feast of San Gennaro is among the most popular Italian heritage festivals in America taking place in New York City for ten days in Mid September annually. We know that the Mafia has always loved making money and to the surprise of no one they have been very involved in getting their hands in multiple money pots when it comes to the Feast committing extortion and many other crimes. It's said that the Genovese Crime Family has controlled it since the 1960's. Jeff Nadu is an American Mafia researcher, podcaster and content creator. For the entire history of the Bonanno Crime Family up until 2002, the Mafia group NEVER had a cooperator in their ranks. That was until July of that year when family capo Frank Coppa decided to flip and testify against the upper echelon of the Bonannos. Coppa would directly testify against boss Joseph "Big Joey" Massino as well as various others. He was extremely destructive to the future of the Family. Coppa lived a wildly interesting life and had been around the Mob since his early 20's. DISCLAIMER: My videos and podcasts are meant for entertainment and educational use. Today we delve into the wild story of "Crazy" Roger Vella, a young South Philly kid who idolized Joey Merlino. In the end he became Joey's driver, got involved with his own dirt and tried to frame Joey and his friends. That would lead to betrayal like most mob stories. I then answered some of your questions on the Mafia. The biography starts at around 35 minutes, but I urge you to listen to the whole show!DISCLAIMER: My videos and podcasts are meant for entertainment and educational use. In this episode for the first 15 minutes or so we delve into the recent arrest of Sinaloa Cartel founder and kingpin El Mayo Zambada. After that I talked about Michael Blutrich who was the owner and founder of Scores Gentlemen's Club in Manhattan. The original Fulton Fish Market opened on the lower half of Manhattan in the early 1820's. For nearly 200 years it operated as one of the biggest East Coast fish markets in the world. Sadly though when money is made and profits are in the millions and billions, the Mafia shows up and today I detail the control the Mob had on the Fulton Fish Market and the players that made millions ultimately in the early 2000's closing the original market and moving it to the Bronx to another market that was also controlled by the Lucchese Crime Family.DISCLAIMER: My videos and podcasts are meant for entertainment and educational use. Today we delve into mobster Joseph Stassi who was a complete Mafia enigma. He goes way back to the early 1920's when he gained the respect of people like Meyer Lansky. He was extremely respected by many Mob Families and was willing to do whatever he was told. DISCLAIMER: My videos and podcasts are meant for entertainment and educational use. Joey Merlino has an extremely interesting presence right now on YouTube. He tells colorful stories and dishes on everything from his criminal life to various informants that testified against him.
