Description: Make this Lent the most fruitful Lent ever. Join Lisa and Laura as they explore Passionate Discipleship, a nine-week Lenten Bible study series. In these powerful episodes, they'll unpack Paul's wisdom to his closest friend, Timothy, and reflect on how we can apply it to our lives today. As we grow in personal holiness, we will boldly step into our call as true disciples by reaching out to the next generation and passing on all that we’ve learned. In today’s episode, they discuss Lesson 5, Talk 5: These Last Days (watch the video), and dive deep into culture and worldview as they set out to answer the question we all have: Why is this generation so confused? This episode is a must listen if you desire to be a disciple that makes disciples. Open your Heart to our key Scripture. 2 Timothy 3:1–7: But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of stress. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, inhuman, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding the form of religion but denying the power of it. Avoid such people. For among them are those who make their way into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and swayed by various impulses, who will listen to anybody and can never arrive at a knowledge of the truth. Open your Bible to other Scriptures referenced in this episode. Matthew 5:48: Be perfect, as my heavenly Father is perfect. John 8:32: And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. Ezekiel 34:11–13,16: For thus says the Lord God: Behold, I, myself will search for my sheep, and will seek them out. As a shepherd seeks out his flock when some of his sheep have been scattered abroad, so I will seek out my sheep; and I will rescue them from all places where they have been scattered on a day of clouds and thick darkness. And I will bring them out from the peoples, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them into their own land; I will seek the lost, and I will bind up the crippled, and I will strengthen the weak. Isaiah 55:11: So shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I intend, and prosper in the thing for which I sent it. 1 John 3:16: By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. 2 Timothy 4:1–2: I charge you in the presence of God and Christ Jesus who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word. Invite Him in with this episode’s questions for reflection. Is there a young woman God has placed in your life? What opportunities could you create to reveal love to her? What concrete action step can take you from wishful thinking or good intentions to beginning to build a relationship of trust with her? Show mentions.
