The police retrieved $1,300, but she’s suing for the balance. The defendant claims the plaintiff gave him the money to help pay his child support and then changed her mind. Then, the plaintiff says she bought a used car from the defendant, who wouldn’t let her test drive it. She claims it failed inspection and she had to spend lots of money on it, so she’s suing for reimbursement. The defendant claims the car had no mechanical issues and says he’s under no obligation to return her money. He’s countersuing for emotional distress.
