They’re suing to get their down payment back. The defendant claims they’re having buyer’s remorse, and he’s not returning a dime. Plus, the plaintiff says he hired the defendant, a contractor, to do some work on his house after a flood. He claims the defendant did shoddy work and he was forced to hire someone else to fix it. He’s suing for the money he spent. The defendant claims he did the work and the plaintiff stiffed him, so he’s suing for money still owed.
