Podcast:The People’s Court Podcast Published On: Thu Aug 03 2023 Description: The plaintiff says she gave her expensive piano to the defendant to sell on consignment. She claims that not only did he not tell her he sold it, but he also never paid her, so she’s suing him. The defendant says the piano market is bad. He claims he sent the plaintiff a good-faith payment when someone wanted to buy her piano, but they backed out. Then, the plaintiff says the defendant shattered her sliding glass door when he was doing some landscaping on the premises, but he refuses to pay for the repair. He’s giving her the runaround, so she’s suing for the cost. The defendant says he doesn’t know how it happened, and he offered to replace the glass. Now the plaintiff wants a whole new door. Plus, the plaintiff says a ceiling leak destroyed his big-screen smart TV, but he claims his landlord — the defendant — denies any responsibility. He’s suing him for the value of the TV. The defendant’s legal counsel says the TV is seven years old and isn’t worth anything. The defendant has filed a countersuit for malicious prosecution.
