The defendant says he offered to DJ for her next event in return, so he owes her nothing. The plaintiff claims he purchased a defunct van from the defendant. The engine completely blew. Since the defendant never told him about prior issues, the plaintiff claims he was bamboozled and is suing for the cost of the vehicle. The defendant argues that he had the van inspected before the purchase, and it was perfectly fine. The defendant says the plaintiff was just being reckless. The plaintiff says he rented an apartment from the defendant, and now that he’s moved out, the defendant won’t return the security deposit. Now he’s suing for that deposit. The defendant argues that the plaintiff didn’t move out in time for the new tenant to move in, and it ended up costing the defendant money.
