Then, the plaintiff says he hired the defendant to do some yardwork, but the guy never finished the job before he took off. He claims he had to pay a new landscaper to get it done, so he’s suing for that cost. The defendant says he wrapped the job and was paid — and tipped — and now the plaintiff wants his money back? Plus, the plaintiff says he has five cars serviced at the defendant’s garage, but all of them have problems. He alleges the defendant won’t honor his warranties, so he’s suing for the state maximum, $5,000. The defendant says the plaintiff is a troublemaker who still owes him money.
