The Find Out Podcast
The Find Out Podcast

Find Out is an honest, irreverent, and often hilarious discussion about America during Trump’s second term. We’re a team of left-wing content creators (who MAGAs would call radical left lunatics)—but we’re here to prove that we’re just normal dudes you can shoot the shit with. Each week we’ll laugh about the latest MAGA absurdities, while helping listeners separate the signal from the noise. Whether you’re pissed off, ready to fight, or feel like you’re about to completely disassociate, Find Out has something for you. No echo chambers. No bullshit. Just real talk. We are very excited to have Governor J.B. Pritzker (D. IL) on the Find Out Podcast. Governor Pritzker has long been one of Trump's loudest critics, fighting him every step of the way. Governor Pritzker is the first Democratic Governor, and potential 2028 presidential candidate, to call for invoking the 25th Amendment after Trump threatened to end Iran's whole civilization if they didn't meet his deadline to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Despite reaching a two week ceasefire, Governor Pritzker also points out that Trump didn't really secure much of a deal with Iran after all his threats. In fact, Governor Pritzker points out that Mr. Art Of The Deal ended up with another TACO deal. It's very clear that something is mentally wrong with Trump, especially after this whole ordeal, and now is the perfect time to invoke the 25th Amendment.Trump's illegal war with Iran wasn't the only thing on our minds when we interviewed the Governor. Pritzker opens up about how Trump still owes every American family $1,700 after the Supreme Court ruled his tariffs were illegal. The Governor also touches upon his ideas for Democrats to address affordability concerns including homeownership, raising wages and making it easier to join or start a union.  Learn more about your ad choices. Amid the anxiety and confusion during the second term of the Trump administration, Tim, Zak, Rich and Luke decided it was time to start providing some answers to our viewers. The Find Out Podcast team asked our viewers to submit questions for this episode and we received many great ones covering a whole range of topics. Will we ever have universal health care? How should you deal with ICE Agents, especially if they show up at polling places? How can Democrats build trust worthy relationships with voters and reach low information voters? Also, if one member of Trump's cabinet were to finally have enough and invoke the 25th Amendment, who would it be?  Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
Here's a fun fact: Gas prices took 18 months to rise during Joe Biden's presidency due to post-COVID supply issues and Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Under Trump, it took just one month after attacking Iran. We taped this episode before Trump's speech on Iran. The American Power Podcast team—Matt Randolph (Mr Global), Nat Towsen and Chad Scott—join us on this episode of the Find Out Podcast to predict what type of bull s*** Trump will try to spin about his illegal war with Iran to manipulate the market and distract you from the largest gas price increases under a U.S. President. We'll also dive into Trump's attempts to fully derail EV production and clean energy, especially with oil prices surging and how he can't pull off the same strategy he used to remove Nicolás Maduro in Venezuela that he's pushing for regime change in Iran. Also, despite what Trump says, China holds all the cards regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz... 👕 **Merch** made in the USA & union-made: https://findoutpodcast.com 📬 Subscribe to bonus content: https://findoutpodcast.substack.com 📱 Follow us everywhere: @FindOutPodcast 📣 Share this episode & tag us #FindOutPodcast 📥 Send us feedback and tips: hello@findoutpodcast.com Learn more about your ad choices. Democrats have a plan to take back the House — and it starts now. Democratic Campaign Committee Chair Suzan DelBene joins us to discuss the party's strategy for flipping key seats, which races to watch, and why she believes the path to defeating MAGA runs straight through the lower chamber. From recruitment to fundraising to messaging, DelBene lays out what it'll actually take for Democrats to win the majority. Plus we discuss which Republican Congressperson we want to see lose the most (this was a tough one!) Monte Mader didn't read about Christian Nationalism in a textbook — she was raised inside it. Born into a far-right, fundamentalist household in Wyoming, Monte experienced firsthand the intersection of evangelical religion, political extremism, and authoritarian family structures. Her father groomed her to be a culture warrior; her childhood was shaped by purity contracts, survivalist preparation, and the belief that Democrats were a mortal enemy. Today, Monte channels that lived experience into one of the most urgent and unflinching voices in the deconstruction space. With over a million Instagram followers and two podcasts — Flipping Tables and Highway to Hell — she challenges her "Coven of Curiosity" to ask hard questions, dismantle dangerous dogma, and understand how religion gets weaponized as a political tool. In this conversation with [Host Name], Monte takes us deep into the architecture of alt-right Christian Nationalism: where it came from, how it spreads, and why it's more organized — and more dangerous — than most people realize. We sit down with Monte Mader — culture critic, musician, and former far-right Christian Nationalist — for one of the most revealing conversations we've had on the show. Senator Chris Van Hollen (D. MD) made headlines in the national spotlight when he appeared on the Find Out Podcast this week after participating in our State Of The Union livestream a few weeks ago. Senator Van Hollen returns to the show to cover two big issues on everyone's minds: affordability and war with Iran.  First off, Senator Van Hollen discusses how his bill, The Working Americans' Tax Cut Act, would tackle rising prices by raising taxes on billionaires and giving a huge tax cut to 130 million working Americans. The bill has 19 Senate co-sponsors and is endorsed by the AFL-CIO, the Federation of Teachers and the National Education Association. Van Hollen explains how it works.  We also discuss that Trump's disastrous war with Iran is not only costing us a billion dollars a day but is also costing the lives of 13 servicemen and 2,000 civilians including 15 school girls. Van Hollen points out that Trump, who lied about being the "anti-war President," keeps changing his reasoning and rationale for starting a war with Iran and even Trump voters in his home state of Maryland are turning on him.  👕 **Merch** made in the USA & union-made: https://findoutpodcast.com📬 Subscribe to bonus content: https://findoutpodcast.substack.com 📱 Follow us everywhere: @FindOutPodcast  📣 Share this episode & tag us #FindOutPodcast  📥 Send us feedback and tips: hello@findoutpodcast.com

1. The Georgia Special Election Surprise The race to replace Marjorie Taylor Greene triggered a March 2026 special election in Georgia’s deeply conservative 14th district.  Democrat Shawn Harris unexpectedly finished first in the initial vote, sending the race to an April runoff against Republican Clayton Fuller.  The district is rated heavily Republican, making the result a major political surprise.  2. Why Democrats Usually Avoid “Safe” Red Districts Campaign resources are limited. Parties prioritize competitive swing districts. Gerrymandering has reduced the number of competitive House districts dramatically.  3. The Case for Competing Everywhere Infrastructure: Running candidates builds local party networks and volunteer bases. Message discipline: Democrats can challenge Republican narratives directly in conservative media markets. Candidate pipeline: Today’s long-shot candidate can become tomorrow’s viable statewide contender. 4. The Political Pressure Strategy Forcing Republicans to defend deep-red districts drains their resources. Competitive races in unexpected places can shift national narratives.   5. The Bigger Problem: Safe Districts “Safe seats” often reward extremism because the real contest becomes the primary, not the general election.  Running everywhere helps break that dynamic and gives voters an actual choice.   6. What the Georgia Race Tells Us Voters in “safe” districts aren’t as monolithic as political maps suggest. A surprising special election in northwest Georgia — the race to replace Marjorie Taylor Greene — shows why. Democrat Shawn Harris shocked political observers by finishing first in the initial round of voting in one of the most conservative districts in the country, forcing a runoff with Trump-backed Republican Clayton Fuller. So what happens when Democrats actually show up everywhere? You build infrastructure. You force Republicans to defend their turf. And sometimes — just sometimes — you shock the system. On today’s episode of the Find Out Podcast, we break down why competing everywhere isn’t a long-shot strategy — it’s the only way to build long-term political power. 1. 1. Trump’s Iran War Is Escalating U.S. strikes against Iran triggered a broader conflict in the region. The Strait of Hormuz—responsible for about 20% of global oil shipments—has been disrupted, sending energy markets into panic.  Polls show most Americans expect the war to drag on and drive prices even higher.  2. Gas Prices Are Rising Fast Oil has surged above $100 per barrel, pushing gas prices higher across the U.S.  In some places like California, prices have already topped $5 per gallon.  Trump has dismissed the increase as a temporary “glitch.” 3. A Terrible Jobs Report The latest report shows the U.S. economy lost 92,000 jobs and unemployment ticked up to 4.4%.  Markets dropped following the report as investors reacted to the worsening outlook. 4. Prices Are Still Rising Energy costs are feeding broader inflation fears. Economists warn the combination of weak job growth and rising prices could push the U.S. toward stagflation.  5. The Big Question Trump promised cheaper gas, a stronger economy, and fewer foreign entanglements. Instead, Americans are watching prices rise, jobs disappear, and another war unfold in the Middle East. What We Get Into: Trump launching military strikes on Iran on March 1, 2026 — without congressional authorization — in what he called "major combat operations," warning from the jump that American lives would be lost His response when the first three U.S. service members were killed in Kuwait: framing their deaths as an expected cost of the mission, saying "we expect casualties, but in the end it's going to be a great deal for the world" — before their families had even been notified Pete Hegseth at the Pentagon, scolding reporters for covering the dead soldiers too much, claiming it was an attempt to make Trump "look bad" Trump's aide Steve Witkoff going on Fox News to reveal Trump had "a tear in his eye" meeting freed hostages — and why the public reaction was immediate and brutal The Iran war itself: who benefits, who wasn't consulted (Congress), and why even some MAGA voices — including Marjorie Taylor Greene — called it "absolutely disgusting and evil" Only 28% of Americans thought the administration made a compelling case for the strikes. Two-thirds wanted a congressional vote. None of that happened. The deeper question: is this a man incapable of empathy, or one who has simply decided he doesn't need to perform it anymore? 👕 **Merch** made in the USA & union-made: https://findoutpodcast.com 📬 Subscribe to bonus content: https://findoutpodcast.substack.com  📱 Follow us everywhere: @FindOutPodcast   📣 Share this episode & tag us #FindOutPodcast   📥 Send us feedback and tips: hello@findoutpodcast.com  Learn more about your ad choices. In speech after speech during the 2024 election cycle, Trump promised that he wouldn’t engage in regime change or nation building.  If you turned that into a drinking game, you’d need a new liver by now.  And now, he hasn’t just done it once. He’s done it twice. This past weekend, Trump proved once again that you know he’s lying because his mouth is moving.  While it’s not entirely surprising he invaded Iran, it’s still a shock and awe moment that will go down as one of his most cataclysmic decisions in his dangerous and chaotic history. And here’s the thing: Iran isn’t Iraq. Or Afghanistan. Or Venezuela. Iran is the 6th largest country in Asia (around 92M), with a GDP of over $400B. They have vastly superior military capabilities than many of its neighbors. Even if we can all agree that it’s not being ruled by anything that even looks like a pluralistic democratic regime, you could also argue the same thing about the modern U.S.  Imagine how (rightly!) fucking pissed you’d be if a foreign nation assassinated our leaders without backing from its populous and started bombing our nation’s capital. And that’s just what Trump has done…again. But this time, he’s picked a dangerous and wealthy enemy.  To put it mildly: Fuck.  We sat down with Gregg Carlston live from Riyadh (Middle East correspondent, The Economist), and Andrew Miller (former Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Israeli-Palestinian Affairs) who spoke to us to try and make sense of the region’s reaction to the invasion. Trump’s disregard for the rule of law doesn’t stop at U.S. borders. From market instability to higher costs for American workers and consumers, this episode connects foreign policy decisions directly to people’s everyday lives. With another high-stakes election looming, Democrats are once again staring down a familiar problem: a party fractured by ideology and internal distrust. In this episode of Find Out, Nathan Jun joins us to ask the uncomfortable question Democrats keep dodging: is unity even possible anymore—and does it matter? We dig into the left’s civil war, the limits of “vote blue no matter who,” and why fear has proven to be a far more effective motivator on the right. Is this election about moral clarity, strategic compromise, or simply stopping something worse? With democracy, power, and the future of the country on the line, this conversation cuts past the talking points to confront what’s actually at stake in November—and who pays the price if Democrats can’t get it together. Today in South Minneapolis, an immigration enforcement operation turned fatal when an ICE agent shot and killed 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good. While the Department of Homeland Security is labeling the incident an "act of domestic terrorism," local leaders—including Mayor Jacob Frey and Governor Tim Walz—are calling it a "reckless" murder and "propaganda." We break down the timeline, the viral video evidence, and the escalating "occupation" of the Twin Cities. Plus Eric Swalwell tells us what he will do about ICE if he elected Governor of California.  Key Discussion Points The Incident at 34th & Portland: A breakdown of the events at approximately 9:30 AM. Renee Good, identified as a "legal observer" and U.S. citizen, was in her SUV near an active ICE raid when she was confronted by federal agents. Conflicting Narratives: The DHS/Trump Admin View: Claims Good "weaponized her vehicle" and attempted to ram agents, forcing a "defensive" shooting. The Eyewitness/Video View: Witnesses and viral footage suggest Good was attempting to turn around or leave the scene. Reports indicate an agent reached across the hood and fired multiple shots through the windshield into her face. The Political Fallout: * Mayor Jacob Frey’s Rebuke: "To ICE: Get the f*** out of Minneapolis." Governor Walz’s Warning: Calling the federal narrative "bullsh*t" and a "propaganda machine," while putting the National Guard on alert to maintain peace. The Broader Context: This killing occurs during a massive federal surge (approx. 2,000 agents) in Minnesota—just blocks from where George Floyd was murdered in 2020. Legal & Civil Rights: What are the rights of legal observers? Who has jurisdiction to prosecute a federal agent for a shooting on city streets? 👕 **Merch** made in the USA & union-made: https://findoutpodcast.com 📬 Subscribe to bonus content: https://findoutpodcast.substack.com  📱 Follow us everywhere: @FindOutPodcast   📣 Share this episode & tag us #FindOutPodcast   📥 Send us feedback and tips: hello@findoutpodcast.com  Learn more about your ad choices. Just days ago, on January 2nd, the world watched as the United States launched a mission to apprehend and extract Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores. Now, as Maduro sits in a New York detention center pleading "not guilty" to narco-terrorism charges, we ask the question everyone is thinking: What is the endgame? Inside This Episode: The Takedown: We break down the timeline of the January 2nd/3rd strikes, from the Delta Force raid on the presidential compound to the first-of-its-kind use of one-way attack drones by the U.S. military. The "Monroe Doctrine" Returns: President Trump has signaled that the U.S. will "run" the country until a transition is ready. We explore what this means for Venezuelan sovereignty and why Vice President Delcy Rodríguez is calling it a "kidnapping." The Oil Factor: Is this about democracy, or one of the world’s largest oil reserves? We discuss the administration's "Absolute Resolve" to regain control of Venezuelan resources and the friction this creates around the world. Global Fallout: From the emergency UN Security Council meetings to Denmark’s warning that this sets a "dangerous precedent" for NATO (Trump wants Greenland after all), we look at how America's allies and rivals are reacting to this "surgical law enforcement operation." Is this the dawn of a new era of stability in the Western Hemisphere, or the start of a "destructive conflagration"? We’re joined by civil rights attorney and writer Qasim Rashid to break down a viral right-wing video that falsely attacks Somali Americans in Minnesota. Qasim walks us through how the video was constructed, why its claims about “fraud” and “crime” completely fall apart under scrutiny, and how racist disinformation is deliberately engineered to spread outrage and fear. We dig into the mechanics of viral propaganda, the political incentives behind targeting immigrant communities, and why these lies persist even after being debunked. What we cover in this episode: How a viral right-wing video targeting Somali Americans was created and distributed Why the claims about fraud and criminality collapse when examined with real data The role of racism and xenophobia in modern political disinformation How influencers monetize outrage and fear for clicks, donations, and clout Why immigrant communities are frequent targets in election cycles The media ecosystem that allows false narratives to spread unchecked What responsible journalism and fact-checking should look like in moments like this How audiences can better spot and resist manipulative viral content   👕 **Merch** made in the USA & union-made: https://findoutpodcast.com 📬 Subscribe to bonus content: https://findoutpodcast.substack.com  📱 Follow us everywhere: @FindOutPodcast   📣 Share this episode & tag us #FindOutPodcast   📥 Send us feedback and tips: hello@findoutpodcast.com  Learn more about your ad choices. Democrats keep their win streak alive in special elections, while Trump completely melts down over, well, everything. Across a series of special elections, Democrats have been outperforming expectations, even in districts once reliably Republican. We’ll explore why Democratic candidates are winning and whether this momentum can carry into the 2026 midterms.  At the same time, the GOP — and especially Donald Trump — find themselves in a bind. Trump-endorsed candidates have stumbled in high-profile races, and analysts are calling his influence “kryptonite” for some Republican hopefuls, particularly among key demographic groups like Latino voters. Finally, we ask the big question: with Democrats over-performing in race after race — and now in one of the reddest districts in the country — are we watching the early signs of a Blue Tsunami forming for 2026? 👕 **Merch** made in the USA & union-made: https://findoutpodcast.com 📬 Subscribe to bonus content: https://findoutpodcast.substack.com  📱 Follow us everywhere: @FindOutPodcast   📣 Share this episode & tag us #FindOutPodcast   📥 Send us feedback and tips: hello@findoutpodcast.com  Learn more about your ad choices. Reports suggest that after the initial strike, the boat and its crew may no longer have posed an immediate threat (if it even did in the first place) — and that a second strike could fall outside the bounds of lawful military force. To help us break this down with accuracy and expertise, we’re joined by Georgetown professor and global security scholar Dr. Nola Haynes.  She walks us through: What the laws of armed conflict say about follow-on strikesThe legal thresholds for proportionality, necessity, and distinctionHow investigations into incidents like this typically unfoldWhy Hegseth could end up in jail over this   👕 **Merch** made in the USA & union-made: https://findoutpodcast.com 📬 Subscribe to bonus content: https://findoutpodcast.substack.com  📱 Follow us everywhere: @FindOutPodcast   📣 Share this episode & tag us #FindOutPodcast   📥 Send us feedback and tips: hello@findoutpodcast.com  Learn more about your ad choices. We also dove into a deep conversation about how fast things are changing in American politics. People are tired of the cookie-cutter politicians who just play the game, and they’re looking for leaders who are real — people who actually care about making change. @⁨Tim Fullerton⁩ Title and description for ya. In our first two-part episode, we kick things off with a massive W for progressives: Zohran Mamdani’s win over Andrew Cuomo didn’t just shock the system—it shattered the illusion that establishment democrats are untouchable. It’s a crucial moment that could reshape democratic politics ahead of two incredibly consequential election cycles. Then, journalist (and expert on the Middle East) Dan Perry joins us to explore Trump’s escalation with Iran. Does he have a plan? Or is this just more foreign policy roulette? Needless to say, there were some disagreements on this one. Trump’s attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities didn’t come out of nowhere — it came out of 2018, when he blew up the deal Obama built. While Democrats cry “unconstitutional,” they’re missing the more powerful argument: Trump caused this. We trace the path from 2018 to today, compare it to the War in Iraq, and talk about what could come next. But we didn’t want it to be all doom and gloom — so we also celebrated Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s release order, and some wins from our own lives to remind us that not everything is so bad. After months of frustration, we’re finally seeing signs that the tide is turning. The No Kings protests completely overshadowed Trump’s sad excuse for a military parade, his approval rating is tanking, and he’s even starting to walk back his hardline immigration stance — proof that protest works. We also break down how Trump’s recklessness helped spark the current crisis with Iran and why he bears direct responsibility for the fallout. Trump’s on his heels, and for the first time in a long time, we’re driving the narrative. To close it out, in honor of Father’s Day, we each reflected on how our dads shaped the people we’ve become. It’s the kind of conversation men usually save for one day a year — but probably shouldn’t. All in all, this episode captures a rare feeling: things are shifting, and we might actually be getting somewhere. For the first time ever, we got together in person to record this episode — and it brought the conversation to a whole new level. We started with a deceptively simple question: What class do you wish every high school student had to take? That opened the door to a much deeper reflection on the lessons we never learned until life forced us to. In the second half, we opened up about our own struggles with mental health — anxiety, depression, and the stigma men still face when asking for help. This was one of the most raw and honest conversations we've ever had, and it’s one we hope every man, especially, takes the time to hear.
