My childhood best friend and her husband have started a podcast which brings awareness to extremely hard situations in life and also, how their guests have felt something bigger than themselves guiding them or protecting them through these moments; leading toward resilience. I wholeheartedly believe that no matter where I was in my own faith from a very young age, God has had a hand in where I have been, leading to where I am now. It’s a very vulnerable choice to offer this type of an inside look to things that have taken me years to dissect, pray about, and seek professional help in healing from. I hope that with me sharing this window into myself, it helps others to not shy away from being authentic and vulnerable with themselves. In no way, shape, or form is it a way for me to blame others for their wrongdoing toward me. But after lengthy talks with my husband and kids; it is time for me to allow my story to be told; or at least the beginning of it. Because it is not only my story, it’s my family’s story, it’s my daughter’s stories and I refuse to allow them to feel an ounce of shame about where they have come from.
