She was told she needed to have surgery, radiation and chemotherapy - all treatments she’d recommended to women all day every day without reservation. But when the words were coming at her, she knew those methods weren’t the right treatments for her, and she began a quest and journey to heal herself.She discovered functional medicine and knew that continuing to be a surgeon was not living in integrity, because, as a surgeon, she was not really changing the trajectory of someone’s life. She knew that cutting out tumors, while life-saving in the short-term, was not the real solution.In 2019, she left her esteemed surgical position and founded Real Health MD with the mission to help women with breast cancer truly heal.
