Description: In this episode of Sasquatch Theory, I interview James about a terrifying encounter he experienced in upstate South Carolina near Lake Robinson, Greer, Spartanburg, and the Paris Mountain area. The encounter happened in September 2024, shortly after a powerful hurricane had moved through the region. With widespread power outages leaving the area unusually dark and quiet, James was riding his e-bike home from a friend’s house at approximately 1:00 a.m. As he rounded a turn near Lake Robinson, James was suddenly overwhelmed by a horrible musky odor. He then heard something massive moving through the nearby woods. James is a former hunter and was familiar with the sounds of whitetail deer, black bears, and other wildlife found throughout South Carolina. Whatever was moving through the woods that night did not sound familiar to him. Then his phone suddenly went off. Moments later, a terrifying scream erupted from the darkness. James describes the vocalization as unlike anything he had ever heard before. The sheer power of the scream rattled his entire body, and he could physically feel it in his chest. For a moment, James says his body completely locked up. He instinctively lowered himself before finally beginning to pedal as fast as he could to escape the area.
