Tenacious Tuesdays on the Jesse Jackson, Jr. Show 7/16/2025
Podcast:The Jesse Jackson Jr. Show Published On: Wed Jul 16 2025 Description: In the first hour, Jesse Jr was solo in his history lesson on African-American representation in Congress and in the Senate. With the threat of the Supreme Court’s Lack of protection for the Voting Rights Act of 1965, and Trump support of a Texas redistricting effort, Jesse painted a very clear picture that is the history of our country and reconstruction and deconstruction. There is an existential threat for African Americans electability in redrawn districts, perhaps eliminating Blacks and other minorities from being members of the nation’s legislative body if we cannot thwart these efforts. In the second hour, Jesse was joined by Atty. Barbara Arnwine, host of Tenacious Tuesday’s “On the Grind.“ As well, Policy Director, Liz King, from The Conference on Civil and Equal Rights joined an amazing discussion on the SCOTUS nod to gut the Department of Education. Covering several topics that citizens need to fight, Arnwine was joined in a call to participate in The Coalition for Transformative Justice’s national “Good Trouble” event on this Thursday.
