When was the last time you asked yourself the following question: Who am I? This episode challenges the common belief that Christians should constantly see themselves as sinners. Bill Thrall and Scott Boyd propose that true influence comes from understanding our identities as saints, defined by God's grace and righteousness. They also explore the idea of "dying more" versus "living more," suggesting that, as Christians, we should focus on living into our new identity in Christ rather than constantly striving to overcome our sinful natures. Topics Bill and Scott discuss in this episode: * True influence comes from who you are. * Many Christians see themselves as sinners, influenced by the prevalent idea in Christian theology. * A "die more" mentality can hinder your spiritual growth. You can "live more" by embracing your identity as a saint. * God sees you as a saint, defined by His grace and righteousness. * The concept of surrender is not about striving but about recognizing what Jesus already did for you. * Working on sinning less will not make you love more. But learning to love more will make you sin less. * God gave you a new heart when you were saved. * Obedience to the truth is evidence of your new identity in Christ.Chapters: (00:30) Two Ways to See Yourself: Sinner or Saint (01:45) The Trap of Self-Degradation and the True Meaning of Surrender (05:10) Embracing Your New Identity in Christ (07:20) The Paradox of Love and Sin (11:13) The Indwelling of the Holy Spirit and the Evidence of Holiness (17:13) Trust and Obedience: The Evidence of a New Heart (19:53) The Power of God's Provision This episode was brought to you by Bill Thrall, Scott Boyd, and the Living Influence team. Learn about Living Influence: https://www.livinginfluence.com/ Subscribe to the Living Influence podcast: * YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@LivingInfluencePodcast * Apple Podcasts: https://apple.co/4kP9Mm2 * Spotify: https://spoti.fi/4hUd9pM * GodTube: https://www.godtube.com/livinginfluencepodcast/ Learn about Bill Thrall’s books: https://www.livinginfluence.com/books This episode was produced by Story On Media: https://www.storyon.co/
