Steve Schwartz, longtime North Carolina high school basketball official, was the chairperson of the Officiating Ad Hoc Committee tasked by the NCHSAA with studying the issues surrounding recruitment and retention of officials in North Carolina. His findings were suboptimal. Schwartz joined Ovies & Giglio in-studio to discuss what, if anything, was done since his 2022 study and the potential crisis facing high school athletics.
